Goten is the second son of Goku and Chi-Chi. He and Trunks spend most of their time together, and are very good friends. Goten exhibited high power when he went Super Saiyan at the age of seven. He bears a very strong resemblance of Goku. Goten has the same hair that Goku has, he also wears a miniture version of Goku's karate Gi. Goten is usually happy, but has a specialty for throwing tantrums to get something he wants.

The third all mechanical Cyborg that Future Trunks did not encounter in his time. In contrast to the other creations of Dr. Gero, his character is benign. He has a love for nature and wants to protect it. He is more powerful than both #17, #18 and even the fully powered 1st stage Cell. But he was eventually overpowered by 2nd stage Cell after engulfing #17.

He is one of the Cyborgs created by Dr. Gero for the purpose of killing Son Goku. In Future Trunk's world, he's simply an evil individual with no regard for human life. Along with #18, he killed most of the world including Piccolo, Vejeta, Yamucha, Tenshinhan and even Son Gohan, leaving Future Trunks as mankind's only hope.
He is quite a different character in the "present" world. Although his character is not evil, his big ego got the best of him. Believing that no one in the universe is stronger than him, he could not accept that fact that he was unable to defeat Cell and fell an easy victim to Cell, thus contributing to Cell's Development to 2nd Stage.

She is another creation of Dr. Gero with the destiny to destroy Goku. Krillin fell for her after his first encounter with her.
She was unable to escape the persistance of 2nd stage Cell to become 3rd stage ("Complete Form"), and was finally engulfed by him to achieve his dream of the "perfect fighting machine."
We don't see #18 again until after Cell was nearly destroyed by Gohan and spits her back out. Krillin "rescues" her and they subsequently settled down with a daughter.

Chi Chi

Chi Chi is the wife of Goku and mother to Gohan and Goten. She is also Pan's grandmother. Chi Chi is a home-wife. She spends her time at home cooking and cleaning. Chi Chi doesn't really have any special abilities, not unless you include her lecturing. However, Chi Chi can fight. She was trained since a very early age just like Goku. Her father, Ox King is also a martial artist so obviously it runs in the family. After Chi Chi became a mother, all her motives changed. All she wanted was to nurture her baby, Gohan and one day turn him into a successive scholar. Chi Chi didn't have a lot of luck in nurturing Gohan, but Gohan did become a scholar under her tutelage. Chi Chi did have another son, Goten. Unfortunately, Chi Chi had even less luck in nurturing Goten since he was a lot like his father, Goku. Goten was wild, lazy and all he ever wanted to do was either fight or have fun. Chi Chi was finally convinced that she could not tame her son so she just decided to be a normal mother and try not to be that protective since it was no use anyway. Unusually, Goten turned out to be a real ladies man.

Bulma

Bulma is the second character (after Goku) to be introduced into the Dragon Ball series. She hits Goku (and the fish he was carrying) while driving through the woods, searching for the mystical "Dragonballs." She eventually persuades Goku to come along with her, and thought that he would make a good bodyguard. Bulma has blue hair, and is the mother of Trunks. Although Buruma has no skills as a fighter, she is a genius with all sorts of electronics, alien and domestic.

Gotenks

The result of Fusion between Chibi Trunks and Goten. Gotenks, another Saiyan formed by fusion dance. He first appears in the Majin Buu Saga in DragonBall Z, as the last effective weapon to defeat Buu. But the fusion did not come out as expected, and Gotenks is not as strong as it was once expected. The Super Saiyan level 3 of Gotenks is just over the power level of Majin Buu. But again, Buu out smarts Gotenks, and aborbed him. the fusion of Goku and Vegeta is 50 times as powerful as Gotenks in SSJ. Gotenks like anyother fused characters is very very very arrogant, and will not listen to anyone.

Gogeta

When Goku and Vegeta use fusion, the result is Gogeta. Fusion is a technique used by the inhabitants of the planet Metamoru. The technique is self-explanatory, but to actually perform fusion is difficult. Fusion is simple, two beings (preferably have similar power levels) perform a short dance. At the end of the dance, the final movement requires the two beings stand side to side and by making a fist with both hands leaving the index fingers pointed out, raise it toward the opposite person. The index fingers of the two beings touch and the fusion takes its course and the two beings fuse becoming one. The result of fusion is a more powerful being (more powerful than the two combined). This was the technique Goku and Vegeta used in an attempt to defeat Janeba. There is a time limit to the technique though. The limit is 30 minutes, so it is crucial that the job is completed before the time expires. It is also important that the technique is performed correctly. The slightest error in performance will change the result of the fusion process.

As a former champion of the Budokai, Goku learned quite a bit from him. When Goku first saw Kamesennin use the "Kame Hame Ha" early in the Dragon Ball series, Kamesennin became his first Sensai. Goku's potential was slowly realized through his training. Kamesenin influenced Son Goku beyond fighting tehnique. He had always believed that one should always seek to improve no matter what level of skill one is in. In the first competition, he purposely joined the contest and defeated Goku such that he'll have someting to strive for rather than being content. In the second competition, he purposely forfeited the fight against Tenshinhan to show that there is always someone better. What he taught Goku is readily apparent as Goku spared the lives of his opponents hoping to meet a greater challenge in the Future. Also, even after defeating Freeza and there is no apparent warrior who is stronger, he still sought to improve his skills rather than returning to earth. His significance, however, faded quite dramatically in Z. He is portrayed as nothing more than just a dirty old man.

King Kai

Kaiosama or King Kai is one of Guardians of the Universe. Overall there are four guardians of the universe, which means there are four King Kais. Each King Kai is responsible for one out of the four hemispheres of the universe. The universe is divided into northern, eastern, western and southern hemispheres. Between the four King Kais, there is one more King Kai. He is called Dai Kaiosama or the Big King Kai. The Big King Kai supervises the four lower King Kais and guides them. His responsibility is the entire universe. The King Kai who trained and prepared Goku for the Saiyan, Nappa and Vegeta was the King Kai of the Southern Hemisphere. His special abilities include the Kaioken Attack and the Spirit Bomb, which of course he taught to Goku. After the battle against Freeza on planet Namek, King Kai thought there couldn't possibly be an adversary that was as strong as or stronger than Freeza. Well when Cell was introduced, King Kai couldn't believe it. During the Cell Game while Gohan was toying with Cell, Cell having spitted out the former Android #18 had a massive decrease in power. An angry Cell refused to give up and began blowing himself up like a balloon.
